What You SHOULD Do When You’re Feeling Alone
Feeling alone is probably one of the easiest feelings to suffer from. The most upbeat, optimistic person can even feel alone. There’s nothing wrong with it and you may experience this feeling multiple times throughout your life. Let’s talk about some of the things you can do to overcome it when it happens.
First off, it’s important that you try to identify the cause of why you’re feeling this way. Maybe you feel like you have no one, maybe you’ve lost a lot of friends recently, or maybe you’re just an isolator. The more you know, the easier it’ll be to try to combat it.
You may hear, “make some friends” all the time, but it’s actually not as hard as it seems. If you sit by the same person in class every day, why not try to start up a conversation with them? You guys have to be in the same space for a whole semester, so don’t just settle for an awkward silence.
You’re not only limited to classmates either. Joining a club, or group of any kind, and maybe even doing some volunteer work is sure to earn you some new friendships. You never know—someone may be going through the exact same thing as you, so don’t hesitate.
Depending on your living situation and finances, getting a pet may even be a resolve for your lonesome feelings. They take a little more work to maintain than just making a friend, but they’re truly worth it.
These are just a few options, but find what’s best for you. No one knows you better than you know yourself.
